Our Veterinarians

Angela Damant AVC December 2008  

Dr. Angela Damant, DVM, B.Sc.

Dr. Damant grew up in Central Alberta and did her Pre-Veterinary program at Red Deer College. Upon graduation from this program she moved with her husband Marc to Saskatoon to complete her B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan. She then was accepted and did her veterinary training at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine which she graduated from in 2003. She moved with her husband and their furkids to Port Alberni in 2004 and has worked at the Alberni Veterinary Clinic ever since. In 2004 Dr. Damant became a full partner at the clinic and in October 2006 she and her husband Marc became full owners. Their fur kids consist of four dogs (Mika,Mattie,Quinn and Jessie) and their cats (Flipper,Jinx,Meah,George, and Sylvester). In her spare time Angela is an active member of the Coastal Martial Arts competition team and enjoys the outdoors whenever she can. Angela is also an avid diver and loves exploring the reefs of the island.

Dr. Junko Sakai, DVM, B.Sc.

Dr. Sakai was raised in Calgary and received a B.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Calgary. She then went on to attend the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon for her veterinary training and graduated in 2007. After living on the prairies for her whole life, she made the move to Vancouver Island in search of milder winters. She moved to Port Alberni and joined the Alberni Veterinary Clinic team in April of 2008. Her Fuzzy family consists of Benjamin (the bunny), Fiona (the Cat) and Duece (the Dog).
